Major repair and improvement programme at Pool

Contractors are moving in on Monday 30 January to start on a major repair and improvement programme at the Pool.  Opened in 1962, the 55 year old lido is beginning to show its age, despite a major makeover in 2009 when it was taken over by the Trust after being threatened with closure by North Somerset Council.  Temporary repairs have been made to the crumbling pool edges and original tile lining but we have have now made the decision that the scum channels should  be replaced by more modern and efficient skimmers.  The recent leaks in the...

Lemon Drizzle beats the drizzle at Macmillan Coffee Morning

This year’s Macmillan Coffee Morning dawned to grey skies and drizzle but we pool volunteers and the local community refused to let the rain put us off.   We came determined to have a good time, enjoy a swim and a chat over coffee and cakes with friends – and while we were at it we donated £887 for Macmillan, a  charity which provides medical, emotional, practical and financial support for people facing cancer and their families, as well as campaigning for better cancer care. We closed for the season on Sunday 18 September but...
