Easter sees record breaking start to the 2019 season

The 2019 season got off to a fantastic start this April with record breaking numbers visiting us during the hottest Easter weekend for 70 years. With temperatures hitting the mid 20s from Good Friday to Easter Monday, 3122 swimmers came to cool off and sunbathe on the terraces, with the highest number 1038 visiting on Easter Monday, when we were at capacity (500 in the whole facility)  for much of the day and operating a one-out, one-in policy.

This is our 10th year of operation since the pool was taken over by the community and we brought forward our summer season by two weeks to coincide with the beginning of the school holidays. It has been very popular with young families and we have had 4221 visitors since 6 April. We are looking forward to the 10th anniversary of the televised makeover on 25 May, which we plan to make an Open Day, and hope we will be just as lucky with the weather.

Other plans for the season include our ever popular full moon swims, an open air cinema performance and our annual Dog Day Afternoon swim in September, Halloween and Christmas swims and the final Longest Day charity swim in June.
